You tell me you don't love me over a cup of coffee
And I just have to look away
A million miles between us
Planets crashing to dust
I just let it fade away

It took a cup of coffee
To prove that you don't love me

Garbage - cup of coffee

nice colours..

i'm losing something in the shadows though..

quick q: do you know what kind of look youre going for, before you start manipulating photos? and do you know how youre going to achieve it - workflow, techniques, etc?
:iconallyekhrah:
It depends. here, I did because we chose the emo- ish topic, and I wanted something sepia to begin with, so I already had a more or less clear vision of the outcome. That's generally the case when I want to have a certain mood in my images (like here, dreamy; or the glass wall pics being rather clear, cold and sterile, yet full of light). With other manips however, like porcelain lily or cardboard romance, I normally just start out with a picture and play around with it with no specific goal until I'm happy with it- it's more of a "okay we have this picture, let's do stuff with it and see what comes out"- attitude.

And what do you mean by you're losing something in the shadows?
:iconmkmkmk:
wow, cool, thanks for the reply - very interesting.

for the shadow comments, i think i only said that because it reminded me of when i try to scan photos on my el cheapo scanner and its so rubbish it loses any detail or definiton in dark or shadowy areas - [detail gets lost and the dark areas sort of merge into eachother with no definition between them] and its a nightmare trying to get back the information - a personal bugbear :) hope i didnt come over overly critical or picky..

i do honestly like the composition, colours, the subject, and what you've done with it!
:iconallyekhrah:
Thanks a lot ^^
And the shadows were rather intended here, so that the focus really is othe subject and not on the floor tile or something. I also think it makes it look more interesting.

And I know what you mean with that shadow problem though-- arghh >< it's a hassle especially in dark areas with no flash.... almost impossible to recover, and if, then only very grainy...

This is great. I love the colors, or lack of colors XD
